Mr. Eraj Wijesinghe is the Chairman of the Bartleet Group of Companies. He has been associated with the Plantation Industry for over 55 years.

During his tenure, the Group that began its activities in the year 1904 as Plantation Produce Brokers, Freight Brokers, and Stockbrokers, diversified its activities into being one of the leading Tea Brokers in Sri Lanka. Additionally, the Group expanded into Financial Services, Information Communication Technology, Mineral Processing and Export, Indenting, and Exports. Four of these, namely processing of minerals for Export, Insurance, Money Broking, and Stock Broking are joint venture projects with foreign collaboration.

He is the past Chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange (from 2003 to 2006).

He served in the Administrative Reforms Committee, initiated by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Further, he has served on the Board of Directors of Bank of Ceylon and BCC Lanka Limited, and on the Board of quoted companies namely, Merchant Bank of Ceylon and United Motors Lanka Limited.

At national level, Mr. Wijesinghe held the position of Honorary Vice Consul General of the Netherlands to the Republic of Sri Lanka and Maldives from 1972 to 1990.

He was the Vice President of the Asia Pacific Alliance of YMCAs and World Alliance of YMCA’s.

He is currently the President of the Ceylon Bible Society, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army of Sri Lanka. He is also Patron of the National Council of YMCAs and the past Chairman of the Property Development Board of the National Council of YMCA’s
