The evening of 27th September 2024 at the Excel World Bowling Centre, Colombo 2, was one brimming with excitement and high energy.
This special day marked a milestone with the inaugural Bartleet Bowling Championship. Ten teams from various group companies had spent weeks practising, all vying for the prestigious title.
The event commenced with the formalities—the national anthem, the Bartleet anthem, and an inspiring keynote address from Group Chairman, Mr. Eraj Wijesinghe.
Then, the competition began.
Each game was fiercely contested, with teams enthusiastically cheered on by colleagues from the sidelines. The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with music, laughter, and a wonderful sense of camaraderie among everyone present.
The first round saw all ten teams take to the lanes, with the top five advancing to the second round.
As the excitement built, a sumptuous dinner buffet was served, and anticipation grew for the announcement of the winners.
Bartleet Produce Marketing Limited (BPML) triumphed, seizing the coveted title of Champions at the Bartleet Group Bowling Tournament 2024. BartleetIT’s A-Team proudly claimed the runner-up position, while third place was awarded to BC Agrotronics. The honours were presented by the Group Managing Director, Mr. Eshanth Wijesinghe.
The title of Best Player went to Nipun from Bartleet Produce Marketing Limited (BPML), while Mr. Eshantha from BartleetIT earned the second-best player accolade. Dinanka from BC Agrotronics secured the third spot. As the saying goes, “Excellence is not a skill, it’s an attitude” – and these players certainly embodied that spirit on the lanes.
The celebrations continued well into the night, with music, dancing, and high spirits. It was truly a day to remember, with over 200 members of the Bartleet family joining in the fun and festivities.
